More freaky weather

Greetings from Buffalo NY.

Western NY where the NHL Winter Classic or Ice Bowl (an outdoor hockey game), was held less than a week ago on a cold, snowy afternoon.

Western NY where just this past Wednesday it was in the single digits with the wind chill reaching the below zero mark.

Western NY where I now sit in a tank top and capris having just come inside from sitting on my patio enjoying a drink and the warm, (well warm for this time of year) night air. It is currently 62º/16.6ºc at midnight.

60's are predicted again for tomorrow, err later on today.

Insane weather

Wednesday and Thursday were bitter cold. At the bus stop Wednesday morning it was below 0ºf,/-17ºc, (with the wind chill factored in, it was still in the low single digits without it), right now it is 45ºf / 7ºc. All the snow has of course melted and the ground is a soggy mess. I seen a group of teens just walk by my front window in t-shirts. Just days ago they were bundled up like they were going on an arctic expedition. I wish Mother Nature would make up her mind already.

Argh men!!

Ok a question for you ladies....

You are sick, (since yesterday~ the coming out both ends have a temperature kind of sick), your husband acknowledges this fact, in fact says you look awful. So what does he do?

A.) Tell you go to lay down, that he will take care of dinner and the kids tonight so you can get some rest.

B.) Offer to go to the store to get you some medicine and ginger ale.

C.) Gives you the 3rd degree about what you ate, refusing "nothing" as an answer and then tell you he is going out to play hockey with his friends tonight and working both tomorrow and Sunday.

Well if you are my husband the answer is C. (bastard)

Is there a jury that would convict me if I hurt him?

Freaky Friday

Well happy Friday to you! I hope you all are feeling well. I'm not. I have been feeling like crap since dinner time last night. Running a fever and to the bathroom every few minutes. Madeline is not feeling that well either so I am keeping her home from school today. She already went back to bed, and I once I am done posting this I will be doing the same for a bit until Lillian wakes up at least.

So I bring to you "Freaky Friday" where I will post an optical illusion to hopefully entertain you. Okay I am going back to bed all. Take care.

I am such a procrastinator.

Why oh why do I wait until the last minute to do somethings? For example emptying out Madeline's school bag. The entire time she has been home on Christmas break I did not remove any of the take home papers. She wanted to switch her book bag to the new High School Musical one I got for her for Christmas. So I am switching everything over as she is getting her jammies on. I am going through the papers and I see on the menu that she has been chosen as the Beary Special Person of the Week for the first grade. (I am bursting with pride here! The Bears are our school district's mascot). So she knew I was going through her bag, and I called out to her sternly, "Madeline get over here." I put on a mad looking face and I asked her if she had something to tell me about what happened at school. She looked like a deer caught in the headlights and said no. I asked her then what about this, handing her the paper folded with the announcement right at the top. She is thinking that she is busted, that she did something wrong, she reads "The Beary Special Persons for the week of Dec. 31- Jan, 4 are Kindergarten so and so room 102. 1st Grade Madeline (Last name) room 127...a brief pause... Madeline (Last name) Thats me! I'm the Beary Special Person of the Week!" I broke into a huge smile and hugged her tight. I told her how proud I was of her and that I'd get her a special treat for getting this honor. The look on her face was priceless. She is so happy about this, she already has the outfit she wants to wear to school tomorrow picked out since she will be having her picture taken and displayed in the main hall's showcase. Did I mention how proud I am of her?

I wish I had known about this prior to Christmas so I could of bragged to everyone about it at the parties we went to

HAPPY NEW YEAR

2008 is now here. Wow did last year fly by. The older I get the faster the years seem to go by. There are many things that will happen this year. In March I will be an Auntie (squee). I am so very excited about this. It is my sister's first baby. My sisters in law both have kids but it just isn't the same. Lillian will be starting Pre-K come fall. I will have 2½ hours a day kid free 5 days a week. Sweet.

We have high hopes that Ed will remain cancer free. I may even get to New York City this year. Ed's brother is apartment sitting for a friend while he is being deployed to Iraq and we have an open invitation to visit him. Luckily flights from here to NYC are cheap.

Well it is after 2:30 now and I am beat. Gonna head to bed here. Once again all my best for a Happy and Healthy 2008!
